BOWERSTON – The long search for a wrestling coach at Conotton Valley has come to an end. Travis Siegenthaler, a 2009 Dover High graduate, has been named the new wrestling coach for this season. He replaces Bill Gilmore, who resigned last spring.
Siegenthaler has a long history of wrestling experience. He was a four-year letterman at Dover where he served as team captain his senior year and was a state qualifier. He went on to wrestle for one year at Mt Union also. Today, he is very active in powerlifting and actually deadlifted 535 lbs. which was the state deadlift record at the time.
“I look forward to coaching this renewed wrestling program for CVHS,” he said. “This is going to be an exciting time as we both grow together athletically in the wrestling program and academically in the classroom.” Siegenthaler, who graduated from Mt Union in 2016 with a bachelor of science degree focusing in geology, pointed out that wrestling is a great preparation for life. “Wrestling teaches you responsibility, self-discipline, and integrity,” he added.
There will be a wrestling meeting in the high school cafeteria on Monday evening, November 25, 2019, at 6:00 PM for all interested players and parents.
